Exploring Pukaskwa National Park, Ontario, Canada, June 2014

So happy to see the sun after two days of miserable wet windy and cold weather. I wanted to stretch my legs and there are a number of trails that depart from the campground. First one I hikes was the Manito Miikaba trail-

To reach the beginning of this trail you follow the boardwalk to the beach-

The beach itself was quite beautiful! A cold breeze blowing off Lake Superior quickly killed any notions of going for a swim though!

The Manito Miikaba trail climbs to the top of a peninsula that juts out into Lake Superior.

I was quite amazed to discover snow here at such a low altitude and late date!

The trail affords spectacular views of the shoreline and lake. The air was so clean and fresh- I can’t remember consciously breathing it in so deeply in a long time!
